expostulate

 ik-SPOS-chuh-leyt  , verb;

1.
To reason earnestly with someone against something that person intends to do or has done.

Sometimes, I would like to expostulate against people consistently whining about how much work they have to do and saying they’re “dying”, to make it sound like they’ve got more work on their hands than you do. In layman’s speak: “I’m/My work is more important than you are/yours.” If only they knew that I’ve been dead for 3 years.
